I thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts. Today was the polar opposite of yesterday in every way. We started out a little late because it was quite cool around freezing. This time the wind was at our shoulder and back, it was truly amazing what a difference it made. I rode with Nick who is from Christ Church NewZeland. Nick is my age and a very accomplished rider, he has won national medals racing and has ridden for 30 years. The time went by very quickly as we chatted and he coached me on many different aspects of biking. I am such an infant compared to all these other riders. Many have been amazed I have only been biking for 18 months. I had no idea of all of the nuances in this sport. With Nick's encouragement I did my fastest 111 miles ever avg. 18.4 mph.
Wind makes such a huge difference, this was the best ride of the trip so far. Even Simon who crashed 3 days ago rode 40 miles today.
Four of us stopped at a little cafe in Stinson Tx. for coffee and a diet coke. It was so cute they gave us free cake and then we decided to order lunch. It was nice to have a change from the lunch sag menu. Me and nick ordered a steak sandwich which ended up being a chicken fried steak smothered with mashed potatoes and gravy on white bread, it was great.
We rode by corn fields, cotton fields, and oil wells as the land turned hilly. One funny side bar was when we used the men's room in Mel's cafe there was a funny little plaque that said "All you ball players with short bats please step up closer to home plate" We just thought it was so funny. Had dinner tonight with Nick and Simon it was a good time. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers.
Life Is Good Ride On

Yeah! I am so happy that your day went so well!!! The bathroom sign is hilarious. Maybe today is just the beginning of better days to come. I'll pray that the wind just keeps blowing you towards Georgia! Once again, we are SO proud of you. Have a fantastic day tomorrow. I'll say the same prayer I said this morning :). Love you! -Jacque
